Miracle Welsh Area Championships

The Miracles are back at Shotwick Lake in September. This was a superb weekend of racing and fun last year, with some lively sailing and equally lively competition. Shotwick has a thriving Miracle fleet but there is plenty of room on the water for visiting helms and crew to fight it out for Welsh honours! 5 races over 2 days, 3 to count. So if you can only make the Sunday then you still have a chance of victory! You can camp for free overnight with a Saturday night meal and with access to washing facilities. The evening meal is at additional cost (£15) but is open to all.

When is it?

Saturday/Sunday 19th/20th September.

How many races?

5 races, with 3 to count (3 races on Sunday).

What does it cost?

Visitors: £25 for 2 days, £15 for a single day.

Shotwick members: £15 for 2 days, £10 for a single day.

Can I camp overnight?

There is free camping available for visitors within the grounds, with access to the clubhouse and washing facilities.

Catering?

A 2-course meal will be available to all (£15), tickets available from Dot in the galley or from Shan Stapley or Julie Dolman, or email Shan.stapley@btinternet.com. No bar but feel free to bring your own drinks.

Fish and chips, steak pie/cheese and onion pie with chips followed by a selection of sweets with pouring cream, tea and coffee.

Bacon baps can be purchased for lunchtime Sunday.

What is the detailed race programme?

Saturday 19th September:

Registration from 12:00h

Briefing at 13:00h

Race 1: 13:30h

Race 2: 15:00h

Evening meal: 18:30h

Sunday 20th September:

Registration from 09:30h

Briefing at 10:00h

Race 3: 10:30h

Race 4: 11:30h follows after race 3 (back-to-back)

Race 5: 13:30h followed by presentations

Note club racing will also take place on Sunday but there will be a dedicated fleet start for the Miracle event.
